We have added the Newtown St. Boswells Auxiliary Unit Patrol to the site.
The patrol were based on the English/Scottish Border and whilst small had a very good sized OB.
The Elsan toilet is still inside the OB and the report is well worth a read here.
Thanks to David Blair our CIO for Scotland for the report.
I live in Newtown St Boswells and I am secretary of Community Council and we would be very interested to know about any plans to carry out restoration this of the OB which is in a poor state ?
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Roger,
Thanks for your post. Please can you email David Blair (cartscotland@gmail.com) about this?
I lived in the stables, Monksford in the 1950’s and 60’s. I discovered this when I was about 11 years old. I remember the bunk bed mattress was blue and white stripes. I thought it was an abandoned air raid shelter. It was in a small copse near the main railway line which was still running then. Joe Featherstone was still the village baker and I was friendly with his son, Michael. There was also an abandoned POW camp on the hill above the village then.
