The National Trust at Coleshill are planning another event next year. This event is happening mainly due to the overwhelming success of last years event on July 4th.

This info was taken from their website. It is uncertain at this time if CART will be involved. Bookmark this page on our site for more info.

Witness first hand life as a trainee Auxiliary Reserve at the grand opening of a replica WWII underground operational base at Coleshill, home of the British Resistance. Commemmorate the loss of Coleshill House on the 60th anniversary of the fire.

Step back in time at our nostalgic family weekend remembering the secret wartime volunteers, who trained up as Britain’s last line of defence in case of invasion. Check out the 70-year old Operational Base (OB), the Guard House and the Trust’s brand new underground Heritage-Lottery-funded replica OB. Get in the mood at our 1940’s street party with a Big Swing Band, drill practice with the Auxiliers, food, talks, art exhibition, re-enactments, entertainment, and a commemorative Church Service.

The event that CART held at Tottington Manor yesterday went without a hitch.

Tottington Manor was the regional headquarters for the Sussex Auxiliary Units.

The staff at the Manor were great hosts and provided a filling meal for the 50 guests.

Main guest of honor was Capt Ian Benson, a former Sussex Intelligence Officer and commander of the Manor during the War. Capt Benson, see image left, flew over from Ireland for the event.

CART is considering holding another larger event at the Manor next year.

You can see images from the day and more info here

Today tickets have gone on sale for our event at Tottington Manor in March this year.

There are only 50 tickets and some of these have already sold so please buy quickly if you want to come along.

The day will include at least three talks by experts, a book signing by Sussex Auxiliary author Stewart Angell, a single course lunch, a small aux shop, a virtual tour of the site and underground tunnels and demonstrations from Auxiliary Unit re-enactors ‘Behind Enemy Lines‘. More info on the day can be seen below. Whilst the day is open to all we would advise children under the age of twelve do not attend due to the nature of the talks and the fact people will be seated for some time.

The food at Tottington Manor is amazing andery filling.  We only had a small portion but we very full.

We look forward to seeing you on March 12th.
