Today we added a page on the website all about Chalton Auxiliary Unit.

They were located in Hampshire near Petersfield.

Steve Mason, CART’s CIO for Hampshire, has done a great job collating a whole load of  info on this patrol. Much of it has never been made public before.

Steve is slowly building up more info on the various patrols dotted all over Hampshire. He can be contacted at carthampshire@gmail.com if you have any info that might help him.

Today CART researcher Steve Mason conducted an exclusive phone interview with Captain Ian Benson.

Capt Benson was an Senior Intelligence Officer for Sussex and oversaw the training of hundreds of Auxiliers.

He has never spoken of his time publicly until today and revealed some new information.

CART member Bill Ashby managed to locate Capt. Benson and obtained his permission.

The 40 minute phone interview will now be prepared for upload to the web and we will post again when it is ready. CART Members can hear it now by logging in to the members area.

If you know someone who you think we should interview please email carthampshire@gmail.com

Earlier this month CART started to set up a network of CIOs (County Information Officers) around the UK in an effort to gain more research and understanding about the Auxiliary Units.

This morning CART recruited it’s seventh CIO (Isle of Wight) and published it’s first CIO report by Steve Mason (CIO for Hampshire) on its members only page. When the reports turn into publishable research they will appear on the website.
